Our Story
60 Years of Baking Excellence
Larry’s House of Cakes first opened its doors in Marion in 1963, when founder Larry Clayton turned his small donut shop into a local favorite. By 1971, the focus shifted to crafting delicious custom cakes, quickly becoming a community staple for birthdays and celebrations. In 2007, following Larry’s retirement, his sons David, Dale, and Neil proudly took over the family business, expanding with a second location in Carbondale in 2009. Today, Larry’s House of Cakes continues to bake with the same passion and tradition that it always has- While blending traditional recipes with creative flair to bring joy to every celebration. From custom creations to elegant weddings, our bakery has been apart of countless special moments right here in the heart of Southern IL.
